Microsemi acquires AML Communications
Analogue specialist Microsemi has announced its acquisition of AML Communications, a California based designer, manufacturer and marketer of microelectronic assemblies for the defence industry.
"We are pleased to move forward with AML's contribution to the Microsemi family," said James Peterson, Microsemi president and ceo. "RF components are increasingly important in today's defence programmes and unmanned aerial vehicle systems. This acquisition brings scale and complementary technology to Microsemi's fast growing rf component and subsystems product offering."
Microsemi said it now expects to deliver more advanced rf solutions to its customers, increase its sellable available market and drive shareholder returns. The semiconductor specialist forecast sequential revenue growth of between 3 and 5%, excluding the effect of the pending acquisition.
