MMICs to solve problems in ‘new and creative ways’
Building on its technology portfolio, Microsemi has launched a range of 16 monolithic microwave ICs (MMICs) spanning frequencies from DC to 40GHz. Included in the range, which has been designed for defence, communications and instrumentation applications, are wideband amplifiers, low noise amplifiers and switch products.
"Microsemi's extensive experience and capabilities has allowed us to work closely with industry leading customers to define and develop products that solve engineer's problems in new and creative ways," said Ray Crampton, Microsemi's MMIC product line director. "Response to our initial MMICs has been exceptional and we are working to expand our offering, with numerous active developments in both GaAs and GaN-on-SiC technologies."
According to researchers, demand for such products in the markets being targeted by Microsemi will reach $500million by 2015.
