Murata develops ‘world’s first’ 500v rated MLCCs
Murata has announced what it claims to be the world's first 500v rated monolithic ceramic capacitors (MLCC) for high frequency applications.
According to Murata, the GQM22 series incorporates metal electrodes, high Q factor, tight capacitance tolerance and high frequency characteristics.
The company says it has used its co-fired ceramic technology to make the use of base metal electrodes possible – previously a problem due to characteristic adjustments and firing conditions.
The GQM22 series is said to be suitable for matching or coupling circuits used in applications such as power amplifiers for mobile communication, WiMAX and LTE base stations, as well as other related high frequency rf modules. It has been designed to make high Q and low ESR possible at VHF, UHF and GHz frequencies.
