NanoKTN event encourages micro and nanotechnology funding

The Nanotechnology Knowledge Transfer Network has announced details of an event that will highlight funding opportunities for micro and nanotechnology in healthcare applications.
According to the NanoTKN, the Miniaturisation in Healthcare Products event aims to build partnerships and increase the strength of the supply chain.
Miniaturisation is taking hold as method of solving healthcare challenges and semiconductor advancements have created manufacturing methods that translate across the whole medical industry. The event has been established in a bid to forge partnerships and increase the strength of the supply chain in order to deliver the innovations.
Dr Mike Fisher, theme manager at the NanoKTN, said: "The field of medical science is developing rapidly and there is no doubt that nanotechnology is helping to solve some of the industry's most significant challenges. In order for commercialisation to be seen, and the UK industry to benefit and grow, we need to ensure we have a solid supply chain. This event will help to encourage involvement in the market and will provide valuable networking opportunities ahead of the TSB call for grant funding in this area."
The event takes place on 2 November 2011 at Eversheds, London and is supported by Eversheds, the Technology Strategy Board, Bio Nano Consulting and the HealthTech and Medicines KTN.
