National Instruments unveils four new fpga adapter modules

National Instruments has introduced four new adapter modules for its NI FlexRIO product range. The modules are said to provide fpga based reconfigurable I/O (RIO) for PXI systems, using the LabVIEW fpga module software.
According to NI, the user configurable series has been designed to take advantage of PXI hardware and software integration and to give engineers a commercial off the shelf (COTS) solution, specifically for the implementation of fpga technology in automated test and measurement systems.
FlexRIO solutions combine two hardware components, a programmable PXI or PXI Express based fpga module and an I/O adapter module. The adapter modules are said to be suitable for real time measurements, nondestructive test (ndt) and ultrasound applications, communications systems and scientific research.
The first in the range is the NI 5761, a 4channel, 14bit module, designed to meet a range of signal processing application needs. In addition, the NI 5751, a 16channel, 50MS/s, 14bit module has been designed for test and measurement in areas such as experimental physics, ndt and medical imaging.
The NI 5752, a 32channel, 50MS/s, 12bit digitiser adapter module, has been optimised for ndt and ultrasound applications and also includes ac coupled differential inputs with integrated VGAs and time-varying gain curves. The last in the series, the NI 6583, is a 32single-ended and 16LVDS/mLVDS channels, digital adapter module with data rates up to 300Mbit/s for test and communication requiring mixed digital logic.
