The partnership with 8devices, a developer and manufacturer of electronic equipment, looks to introduce a 60GHz wireless module and a 60GHz point-to-point (PtP) / point-to-multi-point (PtMP) product.
The 60GHz wireless module offers several benefits for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and original design manufacturers (ODMs) including the reduction of non-recurring engineering (NRE) costs, a shortened time-to-market (TTM) period, and risk mitigation during the development phase.
The module features an advanced phased array antenna with electronic beam forming and a baseband integrated circuit mounted on a printed circuit board (PCB) with a high-capacity M.2 connector. Operating over the entire 57 - 71 GHz band, it provides up to 3.5 Gbps of user data rate in both point-to-point and point-to-multipoint topologies.
Meanwhile, the new 60GHz PtP/PtMP product, utilising the wireless module, enables service providers to deliver gigabit services to homes and businesses, at a fraction of the cost of buried fibre or commercially available 60GHz solutions, significantly lowering total cost of ownership (TCO) and accelerating return on investment (ROI).
The solution allows gigabit connections at unprecedented distances of several kilometres, leveraging the upper-band and a variety of high-gain antenna options.
Commenting Roberto Guglielmi, Head of Marketing and Business Development, Pharrowtech, said, “With this partnership, we aim to simplify and accelerate the adoption of mmWave technology by pushing its boundaries, and ultimately to enhance the way people connect and communicate with one another. This development marks a significant milestone in Pharrowtech's growth trajectory as it continues to expand its product offering.”
