Power consumption under 20W
Concurrent Technologies has introduced its first ultra low power vme critical embedded single board computer based on an Intel Atom processor with a power consumption of under 20W.
The board, launched at Embedded World 2009, uses the 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor N270 and the Intel 945GSE Express chipset. It has 2Gbytes DDR2-533 sdram and supports a variety of peripheral I/O ports, flash drive, CompactFlash site and PMC/XMC modules. Commercial and extended temperature versions are now available and ruggedised, conduction cooled or air cooled (to VITA 47), versions will be available in the near future. The VP A45/01x VME SBC is suitable for ultra low power applications for embedded market segments such as defence and industrial automation.
The 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor N270 (soldered) provides 512Kbytes L2 cache and supports Intel hyper threading technology and Intel virtualization technology. The Intel GS45E graphics memory controller hub and Intel ICH7-M IO controller hub are used to complement the processor.
