Power Integrations’ 2010 revenues up 39% on 2009

Power Integrations has announced its ninth consecutive year of revenue growth, with 2010 revenues reaching $299.8million – a year on year increase of 39%.
Net revenues for Q4 2010 were $73million, 10% higher than the same period in 2009, although it was down 3% on the previous quarter. The company's Net income for Q4 was also down on the same period in 2009, hitting $8.9m, compared with $9.2m.
Balu Balakrishnan, pictured, president and ceo of Power Integrations described 2010 as a 'landmark year', as shipments surpassed 1billion units. "We grew our top line by 39%, achieving our ninth consecutive year of revenue growth," he said. "We also made great progress last year in expanding our product portfolio and solidifying our leadership in high voltage technology to position us for continued growth. We also expanded our high voltage technology presence with multiple strategic transactions, including our investment in SemiSouth Laboratories and, most recently, our acquisition of Qspeed Semiconductor, whose high performance diode technology is a great complement to our new high power products."
Balakrishnan said the expansion of Power Integrations' high voltage footprint is reflected in the growth of its patent portfolio.
