Premier Farnell announces restructuring
Premier Farnell is combining its marketing and distribution businesses in the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific regions.
The restructuring, expected to cost around £8million, "will deliver operating efficiencies and enable the group to benefit from economies of scale," the company said in a statement.
Laurence Bain, pictured, will remain at the helm – although a big shake-up of the rest of the management team is expected.
Meanwhile, Farnell says the service and support it offers customers and suppliers will remain unchanged, "as we work with them throughout the electronics cycle from the early stages of design to production and maintenance and repair".
Bain concluded: "By evolving the way that we work, as one global team, Premier Farnell is well placed to accelerate the execution of our strategy to deliver profitable growth."
