QNX, Freescale to develop preintegrated QorIQ, PowerQUICC solutions

QNX Software Systems will collaborate with Freescale to develop solutions for the QorlQ and PowerQUICC processor families, including the sharing of IP and investment in product and technology roadmaps.
"Freescale's QorIQ and PowerQUICC processor families are leading platforms for medical, industrial automation and other key markets, so this collaboration is important to QNX as we strive to provide our customers the broadest range of solutions possible," said Derek Kuhn, pictured, QNX' vice president of global marketing and business development.
Initially, the partnership will focus on the use of QNX operating system software, middleware, development tools and engineering services to create solutions for the medical, industrial automation and general embedded markets. According to QNX, the collaboration should produce preintegrated and optimised solutions that deliver new levels of software performance for QorlQ and PowerQUICC processors.
