Raspberry Pi dev kit speeds embedded designs

Looking to help embedded engineers harness the power of the Raspberry Pi, element14 has launched the Raspberry Pi Compute Development Kit.
The kit allows design engineers to use their own interface board to host the compute module and easily move from prototype through to production.
"With significant interest in using the Raspberry Pi in industrial and embedded applications, the logical next step is to provide engineers with all the benefits of the traditional board in a flexible form factor to support embedded design," said element14 in a statement.
The compute module contains a BCM2835 chip with 512MB RAM with an on board 4GB eMMC flash memory for booting the OS.
The kit includes a fully functional IO board which supports an extensive GPIO and multiple connectors to help foster rapid prototype development, with access to all of the BCM2835 functionality.
