Record Q1 results for ARM
ARM Holdings unaudited financial results for the first quarter reveal its highest ever unit shipments and record royalty revenues, profits and net cash generation. The company's normalised revenue was £92.3million, up 16% from the same period a year earlier.
The success has been attributed to the increase in smart phones and ARM technology based mobile computers beginning to come to market.
The report shows shipments of the company's chips into mobile devices grew 49% year on year, while ARM based chips shipped into digital tvs, disk drives and mcus grew more than 80%.
Warren East (pictured), ARM's chief executive officer, said: "Leading semiconductor and OEM companies are increasingly adopting ARM technology, creating healthy demand for our latest products. This continuing demand validates ARM's commitment to R&D investment as we develop the technology that meets our customers' need for smarter, lower-power chips in a broadening range of end markets."
