Renesas sells US fab
Renesas Electronics has sold its semiconductor wafer fabrication facility in Roseville, California to Telefunken Semiconductors International for approximately $53million.
German manufacturer Telefunken intends to utilise the 200mm, 8in line at the Roseville factory to manufacture its own analogue/mixed signal products. It will also enter into a supply agreement with Renesas for manufacturing services.
The closing for the sale is planned for May 2, 2011. Renesas maintained its commitment to supporting its customers in the North American and European markets.
