Research facility installs world’s largest oled display
An organic light emitting diode (oled) display measuring 3.8m x 2.3m is said to be the largest such screen yet installed. Housed in the reception area of a new research facility opened by Merck at its Darmstadt facility, the display is built from standard 128 x 128 pixel modules, each measuring 384mm square and weighing 8kg.
The Mitsubishi Diamond Vision oled offers horizontal and vertical viewing angles of approximately ±80° and has a brightness of 1200cd/m².
According to the supplier, the display has a depth of 99mm, allowing it to be installed in restricted spaces, and is less expensive than a comparable LED screen.
