RF transceiver turns Raspberry Pi into a wireless controller
UK firm Ciseco has developed an rf transceiver for the Raspberry Pi which enables the device to be turned into a wireless controller.
Slice of Radio is a pre-built, two way plug and play module that slots directly into the Pi's communications serial port.
The on board chip antenna enables the device to operate up to 200m away, although its range can be extended to up to 1,000m with an external antenna.
Miles Hodkinson, Ciseco's cto, commented: "We built the Slice of Radio as there was a clear gap in the market for an affordable, compact and easy to use module to turn a Pi into a wireless server, controller or gateway.
"We strongly believe that the module creates new ways to build future technology and will be at the heart of many different projects. Users will now be able to easily create and manage wireless device networks, without needing to make any modifications to existing hardware."
