RFID partner programme established to stimulate innovation

NXP Semiconductors has announced the launch of a partner programme to encourage the development of rfid solutions. The Global RFID Innovation Partner Program aims to create a community that can share skills and expertise in order to drive rfid innovation. It will focus on system integrators and solution providers as well as reader and software companies.
A number of organisations have been brought together by the NXP Global RFID Innovation Partner Program. According to NXP, it will make it easier for participants to link up quickly with the partner(s) they need in order to develop a technology application – enabling better availability of innovative rfid solutions for end users. It has also been established to raise awareness of rfid technology throughout the industry and highlight to end users the ease of
"We listened to the market and responded by launching our Global RFID Innovation Partner Program to address the growth of rfid applications in the FMCG and electronics sectors," said Chris Feige, general manager for Tagging and Authentication, NXP Semiconductors. "We want to help ensure that NXP Semiconductors and its partners can effectively use rfid technology to enable the safe and reliable tracking of items, ease of product configuration and an increased level of counterfeit protection."
So far the programme has been joined by companies such as austriamicrosystems, Franwell, InSync and IER.
