RFMD responds to Peregrine Semiconductor infringement claim

RF Micro Devices has responded to the filing of a patent infringement lawsuit by Peregrine Semiconductor relating to rfics and switching technology.
US firm Peregrine Semiconductor has sued both RF Micro Devices and Motorola Mobility, claiming patent infringement. According to Peregrine, it has filed a complaint with the US International Trade Commission and a lawsuit in US District Court over the patents, which it says covers silicon-on-insulator technology for rf ics. Peregrine is seeking an exclusion order on the importation and sale of infringing products, plus damages.
RFMD released a statement saying: "RF Micro Devices has a strong intellectual property portfolio relating to rfics and switching technology that it has developed over many years and RFMD intends to vigorously defend its position in the lawsuit.
"As a leading technology company, RFMD respects the intellectual property rights of others and takes care to avoid infringements. RFMD is fully committed to its entire product portfolio and all RFMD products will continue to be provided to RFMD's customers without interruption while this lawsuit is being contested."
