RIM to open German R&D centre
Blackberry developer Research In Motion (RIM) is opening an R&D facility in Germany. Opening with 140 new employees, the centre is planned to employ up to 500 people.
The facility will be based in the Uni-Tech-Center, part of the Ruhr-Universität Bochum campus. It will focus on hardware and software development for the BlackBerry wireless solution and represents an investment of $45million in the first year of operation.
