RS232 to ttl converter fits D-sub shell
Although the communications world is dominated by USB and WiFi, many products still use RS232.
While embedded controllers often feature one or more RS232 ports, they usually require signals with ttl or cmos levels, inhibiting the direct coupling of peripherals. Tjark van Dijk, director of Dutch company Tildesign, noted there are solutions, but these are often expensive and bulky.
Tildesign has tackled the problem and developed an RS232 to TTL converter. The level shifter contains a two channel RS232 converter which works on both 3V and 5V power suppplies. The board, which is small enough to fit into a long sized D-sub cover, also features leds to indicate the presence of power supply and communication activity.
