Semtech Expands EcoSpeed series with 24V, 3A Device
Semiconductor specialist Semtech has expanded its EcoSpeed regulator platform to include a 3A output current device with a wide input voltage range from 5.5 to 24V. According to the company, the new SC410 is ideal for use with lithium ion battery packs and charging adapters, or regulated 12V or 18V main power supply rails in embedded applications.
"Our higher input voltage range provides 6A and 10A regulators, as well as controllers capable of handling up to 30A," said Alan Burchfield, senior product marketing manager for Semtech. "With the addition of the SC410, engineers now have an easy to use solution for their lower current requirements."
The device incorporates Semtech's advanced, patented adaptive on time (AOT) architecture to achieve 'best in class' performance for today's green power requirements by managing both standby and full current demands. The AOT architecture uses an advanced control loop to adjust the on time based on input and output voltages which is said to result in a pseudo fixed frequency operation and predictable EMI.
