Skills initiative moves to Cambridge
Following a successful pilot in Bristol, the UKESF'S Go4SET project is being launched in Cambridge.
The 10-week initiative, run in partnership with the Engineering Development Trust, aims to stimulate interest in and raise awareness of electronic engineering as an exciting subject and rewarding career path.
School pupils aged 12-14 will be put in teams of six and united with an industry mentor to present their visions and prototypes of future technologies.
The initiative was first run in Bristol last yearand saw pupils design electronic netball bibs that change lettering automatically, futuristic ways of watching films, holographic shopping assistants and smart watches.
Wendy Daniell, UKESF programme director said: "This event in Cambridge is the start of the nationwide roll out of the project, and we're looking to partner with local firms in each region to reach even more students."
