‘Smart’ remote control lets users manage multiple home appliances
NXP's new 'smart' remote control demonstrator is designed to let consumers manage multiple appliances in the home.
Featuring the company's JN5161 wireless microcontroller, the device takes advantage of the two way communication enabled by ZigBee RF4CE and also lets users manage their total energy consumption in real time.
"Touchscreens and low power wireless communications are redefining how we interact with nearly everything," said NXP's Jan Willem Vogel. "For heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems in particular, better information can help consumers optimise usage, for tremendous energy savings."
