TI brings Bluetooth Smart tech to automotive applications
Texas Instruments has introduced the CC2541-Q1, a wireless microcontroller designed to deliver low power, low cost and simplified automotive connectivity to smartphone controlled and wire replacement applications.
The SimpleLink solution supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GNSS (WiLink 8Q), and dual mode Bluetooth (BL6450Q).
It includes a royalty free TI protocol stack, profile software and sample applications, development kits and technical documents, and full support for analogue and digital peripherals.
Flash based firmware can be updated in the field and persistent data can be stored on chip. The MCU consumes less than 1mA of sleep current with RTC and RAM retention.
Support for Bluetooth 4.1, as well as proprietary modes at 250Kb/s, 500Kb/s, 1Mb/s and 2Mb/s, is planned.
