TI chip cuts battery charging time in half
TI's new bq2419x family of battery charger ics is designed to reduce the charge time of smartphones and tablets by 50%.
The 4.5A output, 20V input rated switch mode chargers deliver faster and cooler charging through battery path impedance compensation, and offer programmable thermal management capability to ensure safe, reliable system operation.
The devices are available in a 4 x 4mm QFN package and feature an integrated battery discharge mosfet to provide a low on-resistance of 12m?.
Target applications include power banks and packs, 4G LTE routers, Wi-Fi speakers and portable medical and industrial equipment.
