Aimed at anyone who has responsibility for managing EMF safety in the workplace, the course will be of particular interest to the those in the telecommunications, broadcast, defence, medical, scientific and industrial sectors. It will be held on 22nd-23rd October 2019 at Link Microtek’s purpose-designed training facility in Basingstoke.
According to Link Microtek’s technical director Hugo Bibby, “It’s a common assumption that EMF risk assessments are somehow too complicated to perform without a lot of expert advice. But in reality most assessments are relatively simple, and it’s just a matter of knowing how to use the sources of information that surround the EMF Directive and CEMFAW Regulations.
“If the assessment is more complicated then possibly some measurements may be required, but again the measurement process is often relatively simple. This new 2-day course will equip attendees with everything they need to carry out an EMF safety assessment for their organisation.”
The course will begin with the articles of the EMF Directive, the decision-making process around the risk assessment, Exposure Limit Values & Action Levels and preventive and protective measures. Subsequent topics include how to identify potential hazards, how to obtain information about those hazards, how to select and use measurement equipment and how to produce a measurement report. Then, after looking at a variety of real-world case studies and assessment scenarios, course delegates will have the opportunity for some hands-on practical measurements.
With more than 20 years’ experience in the EMF safety arena, Link Microtek offers an unrivalled depth of knowledge and expertise, making it the ideal training provider for those tasked with implementing an EMF risk assessment.
