TT electronics to focus on application needs

The group comprises Welwyn Components, BI Technologies, AB Mikroelektronik, IRC, Optek and the recently acquired Semelab. All companies will be refining their product portfolios to allow greater emphasis on high growth sectors, including medical, defence and aerospace and renewable energy markets. In addition, a new operating structure is being implemented to enhance the Group's service to its customers and to drive new product development. Winter added: "The individual component businesses have already achieved strong market positions across a range of product segments. To improve future business performance, there will be an increased focus on developing market leading positions in additional growth product segments such as visible optical devices, power and rf semiconductors."
