Wafer shipments grow
Total silicon wafer area shipments in Q3 2007 amounted to 2,174million sq in, an increase of 5% over last year according to the SEMI Silicon Manufacturers Group’s (SMG) quarterly analysis of the silicon wafer industry.
“In line with the historic pattern, the pace of wafer area shipments has slowed slightly for the third quarter,” said Dr Volker Braetsch, SEMI SMG chairman. “This is the result of smaller area diameter wafer shipments declining, whilst 300 mm wafer shipments continue to grow.”
