Team UK has 43 competitors, currently in the final phase of training in skill categories such as electronics, mechatronics and robotics. Visitors to the competition will be encouraged to 'Have a Go' at dozens of different skills and receive personal and impartial careers advice on hundreds of different careers.
Aidan Jones, executive director of WorldSkills London 2011 said he was pleased with the high number of registrations: 'WorldSkills London 2011 is a fantastic opportunity to see highly skilled young people competing to be the best in their field. This will be the biggest event in London before the 2012 Olympics and we are working hard to ensure that London is the biggest and best WorldSkills yet."
