XP Power unveils 95% efficient 250W convection cooled power supplies

XP Power has announced the CCB250 series of single output 250W ac/dc power supplies, which it claims has an operating efficiency of up to 95%.
The convection cooled devices are aimed at industrial and medical applications and are said to generate very little waste heat without requiring forced air cooling.
The series meets IEC60601-1 3rd edition medical safety standards, complying with 2 x MOPP (means of patient protection) and offering complete risk management files. It also complies with the requirements of BF (body floating) applications and is approved to IEC60950-1 for IT and industrial applications.
The series has an input range of 80 to 275vac, in an ambient of -20 to 70°C, with no derating until 50°C. As well as being able to continuously deliver the maximum output of 250W, peak power capability is rated up to 300W for a maximum of 500ms, which allows the delivery of a short term higher current without the costs or space required for a higher rated unit.
The open frame CCB250 series fits into a 1U space and comprises six models providing the nominal outputs of 12, 15, 24, 28, 36 and 48vdc.
