400W power supply provides 600W peak

XP Power has introduced the FCM400 series of single output, high efficiency 400W ac/dc power supplies, suitable for a range of industrial and medical applications. The units feature an enclosed low noise fan and measure 6 x 4 x 1.93in. They have a power density of 13.9W per cubic inch and a typical efficiency rating of 85%. XP believes the units have one of the highest power densities of any 400W power supply with medical safety approvals.
For applications that draw a higher current for a short period, the FCM400 series can provide a higher peak power capability up to 600W for 0.5 seconds. This is to enable the customer to specify the unit in place of a larger higher rated unit to save space and cost. Accommodating the input range of 80 - 275VAC, the series comprises 6 models with nominal outputs of 12, 15, 24, 28, 36, or 48VDC. An output trim allows an adjustment of +/- 10% to suit non standard voltage requirements and compensate for any voltage drops in the end system.
The series meets the electrical safety standards of both IEC 60601-1/UL 60601-1 for medical equipment and IEC 60950-1/UL 60950-1 for industrial and IT equipment. It also complies with EN 55022/EN55011 specifications for Class B conducted and Class A radiated emissions without the need of additional filtering components.
