Audio codec speeds soundbar development

Texas Instruments has introduced a new stereo audio codec with two fully programmable miniDSP cores to support customised processing solutions.

The PCM3070 is designed for use in soundbars and docking stations and includes a stereo 24bit d/a converter as well as an integrated PLL for flexible audio clock generation. According to TI, it enables engineers to produce high quality, low cost soundbar solutions and develop their products quickly. SRS WOW HD is included as a standard feature, which is designed to improve the playback quality of audio and deliver a high frequency. TI says the programmable 32bit miniDSP engines allow for customised processing solutions, including branded audio effects, multiband dynamic range compression and custom filters and algorithms.
