The device, which uses Intersil’s R3 modulation technology, can provide buck-mode, buck-boost-mode, and boost-mode charging for Li-ion batteries with up to three cells. It is also said to support USB OTG via a 5V out reverse buck mode feature.
It accepts an input ranging from 5V to 20V supplied from sources such as batteries and chargers. Output from the device ranges from 2.4V to 13.824V and, by operating at up to 1MHz, smaller inductors can be specified.
