DC/DC converters achieve 95% efficiency
Expanding its portfolio of DC/DC converters, Texas Instruments has introduced what it says are the smallest and highest performance 1 and 4A buck-boost regulators in the industry.
Designed to extend battery life in Li-ion battery powered designs, the 1A TPS63050 and 4A TPS630250 single inductor devices are optimised to achieve up to 95% efficiency in half the solution size compared to other products on the market.
The 2.5MHz TPS630250 supports an input voltage range of 2.3 to 5.5V and can discharge lithium batteries down to 2.5V or lower, while maintaining light load efficiency and a quiescent current of 35uA.
Both of the devices are available now in a 1.726 x 1.326mm, 12pin CSP package.
