Digital oscilloscopes for everyday T&M tasks
1 min read
Rohde & Schwarz launched a new family of digital oscilloscopes at Embedded World. The RTE series is aimed at fulfilling most of an engineer's daily test and measurement requirements and is intended to fill the gap between its 'value' ranges, which include the RTM, and the laboratory RTO instruments.
Available with bandwidths from 200MHz to 1GHz, the RTE features an ASIC designed in house that allows parallel processing, allowing an acquisition rate of more than one million waveforms per second.
A further boost to productivity comes from the tool set, which includes the QuickMeas function. This simultaneously performs up to eight measurements on a signal. Fingertip zoom allows users to simply swipe a signal's zoom area to quickly view signal details. Tools are selected from a configurable toolbar.
The RTE's digital trigger system has virtually no trigger jitter, while the single-core A/D converter, with more than seven effective bits, almost completely eliminates signal distortion. With a sampling rate of 5Gsample per second and a maximum memory depth of 50Msample per channel, the RTE can accurately record the long signal sequences required when analysing the data content of serial protocols such as CAN and I2C.
