Using organic thin-film (OTFT) active matrix technology, combined with bistable electrophoretic technology, the thin, lightweight and robust displays are said to have low power consumption and no need for continuous refresh cycles.
The displays have an ultra-wide viewing angle and are available in monochrome with up to 16 levels of grey. Standard sizes range from 1.1in to 10.7in. According to RDS, the displays are suitable for use in wearables, signage, mobile electronics devices and smart cards.
