High voltage dc power supply
1 min read
Roband Electronics has launched a mains powered, high voltage, dc output bench top power supply, the RO-HV 30-1.
The device provides variable output voltages and currents up to a maximum of 30kV and 1mA, which are displayed via digital meters on the front panel of the instrument to resolutions of 100V and 1µA respectively. Maximum power output is 30W.
Output voltage and current limits can be set before the output is enabled and these may be adjusted when in use. Current limit can either be constant or trip, selectable from the front panel. At switch on, or following a power interruption, the unit defaults to 'output disabled' or 'constant current' mode. Polarity is factory preset and must be specified at time of ordering.
The output is via a screened connector, with 2m of cable supplied as standard. For safety reasons, the GES HS40 output connector is touch proof even when unmated. The RO-HV 30-1 is EC Directive 73/23/EEC and BS EN61010-1: 2001 compliant, as demonstrated by safety analysis REL 10196. The HV connector supplied with the power supply also complies with IEC60664-1. The unit is output short circuit protected to a maximum of 6A, and the output is tripped if it exceeds the set voltage by approximately 3kV.
The RO-HV 30-1 measures 276mm wide (including clearance for the input and output connections) by 266mm deep by 70mm high. It weighs 2.5kg and is housed in a flame retardant (UL94-V0), high impact polystyrene enclosure.
The RO-HV 30-1 is designed to meet the EMC Directive 89/336/EEC and the Low Voltage Directive 73/23/EEC.
The RO-HV 30-1 is manufactured at Roband Electronics' Charlwood; Horley site in accordance with the company's approved Quality Management System:
The unit's rugged construction, compact size and light weight makes it suitable for laboratory, test and portable applications.
