The pick and placeable transformers, built on self-shielding packages, are said to have a reduced number of components, resulting in small form factor and losses. The transformers also have primary side regulation. The high efficiency MAX17681 converter eliminates the need for optocoupler feedback circuits and can deliver up to 3W of output power.
Applications for the transformers include isolated fieldbus interfaces, PLC input/output modules, smart meters, medical equipment, floating power supply generation, factory automation, as well as isolated communications interface such as RS485 and RS232.
