Melexis adds to range of 'intelligent' position sensor ICs
1 min read
Melexis has expanded its position sensor IC portfolio to include a 12bit resolution device that can be used in either linear or rotary position sensing systems.
Based on the company's proprietary Triaxis technology, the MLX90365 features fully programmable transfer functionality, selectable analogue and pulse width modulation output modes, open/short diagnostics and on board diagnostics.
Available now in SOIC and TSSOP surface mount packages, the IC is AEC-Q100 automotive qualified and has both under voltage detection and over voltage protection built in. It is designed to measure the properties of a magnetic field in all three dimensions and has a patented Integrated Magnetic Concentrator on its surface to enable reduced signal to noise ratios.
"This latest device expands our deployment of high accuracy contactless sensing," said Vincent Hiligsmann, marketing manager for position sensors at Melexis. "Special care has been applied to the on board diagnostics providing a best in class readiness level vs. ISO26262 requirements. The MLX90365 offers support for current and future market challenges in terms of performance, robustness and functional safety requirements"
