MEMS iSensor offers 10 degrees of freedom
Analog Devices has introduced a new 10DoF inertial measurement unit.
The ADIS16407 iSensor device integrates a tri axis gyroscope, tri axis accelerometer, tri axis magnetometer and a pressure sensor into a single package. It is designed to simplify designs for unmanned vehicle and first responder navigation.
Each sensor combines ADI's iMEMS technology and has its own compensation formulas to maximise accuracy of sensor measurements.
According to Bob Scannell, Analog Devices' iSensor business development manager, the ADIS16407 combines all necessary sensors in a single product with a simple interface, leaving the system designer more time to focus on system dynamics/filtering specific to their application.
