Conduction cooling has a number of benefits including no fan generated audible noise or vibration and the ability to transfer heat to the system enclosure or cold-plate.The series has both medical and industrial safety certifications, making it suitable for a wide range of applications, including medical equipment, test and measurement, broadcast, communications and COTS applications.
Measuring 101.6mm wide, 41mm high and 177.8mm in length, the CM4 can deliver up to 600W of continuous output power with a peak of up to 750W for 5s.The operating input voltage range is 85 to 264Vac, with linear derating to 425W from 120Vac to 85Vac.Up to four single output modules can be selected, or in a series/parallel combination to provide voltages ranging from 1.5V to 232Vdc and output currents of up to 90A.Nominal output voltages can be adjusted over a minimum range of 3:1.
When conduction cooled, the baseplate can operate at temperatures up to 105°C, with derating of the output module power and current by 2.5% per °C only required above 85°C.The ambient air temperature range is -40 to +70°C, derating the total output power by 2.5% per °C above 50°C.Operating efficiencies are up to 90% (configuration dependent) and the standby power consumption is less than 1W.
Functionality and signalling include a 5V 1A standby voltage, AC OK, module good, remote on/off (individual modules or the power supply), internal temperature monitor, output current monitoring, module bias supply, and remote output voltage and current programming on the S and Z modules.
All models have a maximum earth leakage current of 200µA, while complying with the EN55011/55032-B conducted and radiated emission standards. The units also meet the EN60601-1-2 and EN61000-4 immunity standards. In addition, the CM4 series has been tested to relevant sections of MIL-STD-810G, MIL-STD -461F, MIL-STD -1399 and MIL STD 704.
