The PAN 9026 module uses the Marvell 88W9877 Combo Controller with Bluetooth v5.0 and WLAN 802.11 n / a / g / b. The evaluation platform comes with a NXP i.MX6 hardware incl. Linux, Blue SDK Stack from OpenSynergy and WLAN drivers. Various WLAN applications (access point, client), Bluetooth audio streaming and Bluetooth Low Energy are part of the evaluation platform. This platform is part of the Panasonic and OpenSynergy IoT strategy. The combination of WLAN and Bluetooth is designed to offer maximum flexibility for connectivity in various industrial applications.
The two companies developed a common demonstrator to show the benefits of the PAN 9026 combo hardware, which was introduced in partnership at electronica, and featured the following:
- Bluetooth audio streaming (A2DP sink)
- Bluetooth Low Energy Beaconing (Advertising)
- Wi-Fi Functions:
o Access Point with Web Interface
o Support two WiFi connections
o Proxy Support
The new module is said to benefit customers by reducing design, testing, and calibration costs, thereby decreasing time to market compared to other solutions. The supplied software demonstrates essential features of WLAN, Bluetooth and Bluetooth Low Energy.
The collaboration between PIDEU and OpenSynergy offers customers many opportunities, according to the duo, for example customers can order Blue SDK software or commission development services directly for projects in this field.
