Power factor controller targets ac/dc adaptor applications
Intersil's new active power factor controller, the ISL6730A, is designed to deliver minimal harmonic distortion and high power factor correction.
The device features negative capacitance technology, which the company says reduces EMI filter size and provides maximum efficiency over a wide input supply range and output power.
The technology is also said to minimise zero crossing distortion, compensate for input filter capacitance power factor displacement error and reduce the magnetic component size by up to 66%.
