Rail to rail amplifiers offer 6x more bandwidth than nearest competitor

Two new operational amplifier families have been introduced by Exar; the XR1008/XR2008 and XR1009/XR2009.
The first series offers 75MHz bandwidth while consuming only 505µA supply current, while the lower power XR1009/XR2009 single/dual amplifier family provides 35MHz at only 208µA supply current.
When compared to other competing products on the market today, Exar says the devices offer up to 6x the bandwidth.
The XR1008/XR2008 single/dual amplifiers target industrial applications such as smart meters, ultrasonic heat meters and other applications requiring high speed and low power. The XR1009/XR2009 series is made up of single/dual amplifiers with a low 200µA supply current for portable instrumentation and applications such as interactive whiteboards.
All four devices support inputs that extend 300mV beyond the negative supply voltage and provide rail to rail outputs. Slew rates and input voltage noise are specified at 50V/µs and 12nV/vHz for the XR1008/XR2008 and 27V/µs and 21nV/vHz for the XR1009/XR2009.
"Designers looking for low power amplifiers do not need to sacrifice speed or performance," said Dale Wedel, vice president of High Performance Analog products at Exar. "These rail to rail amplifiers minimise power dissipation in high channel count applications and offer superior electrical characteristic performance, helping our customers design lower power next generation platforms."
