Steatite launches next gen VIA EPIA-M860 board
Steatite has launched the latest Mini ITX board paired with the VX900 chipset, the new VIA EPIA-M860 Mini-ITX board.
The board combines a 1.2GHz VIA Nano E-Series Processor with the VIA VX900 media system chipset to create a complete platform for digital signage, media terminals, infotainment devices and online streaming video.
Designed as a full featured entry level VX900 board, Steatite claims the EPIA-M860 is the first EPIA board to support Windows Embedded POSReady 7. It offers PCI, PCIe and Mini PCIe support, combined with mainstream ddr3 memory and both ATX and dc in power support.
"The EPIA-M860 board represents an exciting new entry in the commercial embedded market, offering great expansion flexibility and powerful 64bit processing," said Matt Brindle, embedded business manager for Steatite. "This highly adaptable platform gives developers the foundation to create the next generation of interactive POS devices."
