The modules feature black, white and red E Ink display panels and each has a resolution of 103pixel/in. Legible in natural light, the bistable display consumes little power to update an image and no power to maintain it. This means a display can operate for months from a single battery.
The integrated chip-on-glass timing controller is said to cut component cost and application development time. A one time programmable look up table holds driving waveforms, which control colour changes. As well as the integrated timing controller, the modules also feature a booster circuit.
