Wideband RF synthesiser supports wireless applications
Looking to support the need for higher performance and increased integration in wireless applications, STMicroelectronics has introduced the STW81200.
The RF synthesiser leverages ST's BiCMOS (SiGe) manufacturing technology by integrating wideband voltage controlled oscillators, a dual fractional and integer phase locked loop core, low noise voltage regulators and a set of programmable hardware options.
ST describes the STW81200 as the industry's most flexible RF synthesiser.
The module supports the development of multi band, multi standard software defined radios across the frequency range of 50MHz to 6GHz, while delivering normalised in-band phase noise floor of -227dBc/Hz, a VCO phase noise of -135dBc/Hz @1MHz offset with a 4.0GHz carrier, and a noise floor of -160dBc/Hz.
The STW81200 can be powered from a single unregulated supply at 5V, 3.6V, or 3V and tuned in consumption and performance.
