DEVELOPMENT FRAMEWORK: Digia releases Qt 5.1 development framework

Qt 5.1 includes significant improvements to Qt Quick, the Qt-specific declarative UI language, making it easier to develop graphically-rich UIs quickly and efficiently; it brings in new APIs, and improves performance. The new version also introduces preliminary support for Android and iOS, solidifying Qt as a true cross-platform framework for native development across the most popular operating systems and targets. Qt simplifies developers' lives by enabling them to produce applications faster with intuitive user interfaces for multiple targets in the desktop, embedded and mobile space. It also makes it easier to address the paradigm shifts that touchscreen devices require. Qt 5.1 is fully integrated with the Qt Creator 2.7 IDE, resulting in a smooth development experience from within a single package.
