ENCLOSURES: Custom enclosures in control

Based on the outcome of a consultation process involving various customers, Italtronic Srl and its distribution partner Hitaltech can offer a range of electronic enclosures to suit applications within the process control, building automation and heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) industries. The Modulbox XT Compact Measuring just 32.5mm high, the Modulbox XT compact is a low profile version of the DIN Rail mounting Enclosure - The Modulbox XT product. Available from 2 to 12 modules and produced in UL94V-0 polycarbonate ABS Blend, the Modulbox Compact kit includes the enclosure, base and DIN Rail hook. Units are supplied with a standard dark grey panel, which can be cost effectively printed and/or machined, according to specific customers requests. A range of accessories is also available including pre-holed and plug-in terminal covers which can accommodate Hitaltech's terminal blocks and connectors. "By offering a range of standard DIN Rail enclosures including low profile versions, Hitaltech are able to provide a standard enclosure which can suit varying applications within the HVAC and Building Automation. The addition of these low profile enclosures for both the Modulbox and Railbox range allows Hitaltech to offer an enclosure where space on either the DIN Rail or within an industrial cabinet is not at a premium," explained Hitaltech's marketing manager Tara Fisher. The Modulbox Range: The Modulbox Compact product is the latest addition to Hitaltech's Modulbox enclosure range. The DIN Rail mounting Modubox XTS enclosure is available from 2-12 modules across 3 variants A, B and C. • Type A has a two step shape similar to the existing Modulbox range. • Type B has two steps on one side of the box and a high side on the other. • Type C has high sides on both sides of the box, giving a significant increase in internal volume. • A range of terminal covers and panels are available as well as terminal blocks and connectors which are compatible with Hitaltech's enclosures. Customisation Hitaltech aims to offer a product which meets customer specific requirements. In order to do this, cost effective machining and/or printing of Hitaltech's electronic enclosures are available. This therefore removes the need for customers to outsource their printing/machining requirements, thereby saving time. The customised product can be supplied under one final part number simplifying the logistics process.
