SL Power 500W Lighting Power Supply: Smaller, Lighter and Longer Lasting
SL Power, an industry leader in the design and manufacture of power conversion solutions, has announced the LE500 series of ac-dc power supplies, which are lighter, smaller and last longer than competing solutions for horticulture, arena, industrial and architectural lighting. Competitive analysis conducted by SL Power shows that the LE500 series is 30 percent lighter, 30 percent smaller and has more than double the life expectancy of other 500 watt lighting power supplies.
The LE500 series also has a low inrush current, which means that a single circuit breaker can support up to four power supplies, compared with competing solutions with a higher inrush current that require individual circuit breakers for each power supply, offering a significant cost and space saving for installers. Droop current sharing enables easy scalability to high power applications with different wattage configurations in a single part number, which can help reduce customers’ total cost of ownership.
An IP67 rating means the LE500 series has the highest level of protection from harmful dust and is protected from immersion in water with a depth of up to one meter for up to 30 minutes. Efficiency is 93 percent typical at 230 V input and 92 percent typical at 115 V input. Models currently available offer 24 V or 48 V outputs at 10.8 A or 10.4 A respectively.
