Diamond Systems' Epsilon is a managed Layer 2+ Ethernet switch module offering eight 10/100/1000Mbps copper twisted pair ports on a PC/104 form-factor board. It can be used standalone, without any connection to a single board computer, or its PC/104 format makes it easy to install in any PC/104 system. Epsilon supports VLAN, port aggregation, rapid spanning tree protocol, four Quality of Service classes, and many other advanced features.
Epsilon's built-in microcontroller handles configuration and management and can be accessed via an RS-232 serial port for out-of-band management, or via a web management interface over one of the Ethernet ports.
Input power can be provided through the built-in, wide-range +7-36VDC power supply, enabling operation using industrial power sources. Alternatively, Epsilon can be powered from a +5VDC source.
Epsilon operates over the full industrial temperature range of -40ºC to +85ºC, supporting the temperature extremes of fixed and mobile applications in both indoor and outdoor environments.
All connections to Epsilon are via rugged positive-locking connectors for maximum ruggedness. A cable kit is available with convenient panel-mount industry-standard connectors.
